Postdoctoral Position in Non-Equilibrium Quantum Materials

We are seeking a motivated postdoc to help build a new quantum optoelectronics group at Vanderbilt University. We employ tailored electromagnetic drives (including GHz-THz cavities and multi-chromatic femtosecond pulses) to create, control, and probe quantum phases in van der Waals materials.

Based at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, our group has access to excellent nanofabrication facilities and experimental support. This intellectual environment offers collaborative opportunities across both the Physics and Electrical and Computer Engineering departments and with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Candidates with expertise in the areas of van der Waals quantum materials, device fabrication, DC/HF transport, ultrafast spectroscopy, or cavity physics should apply!

This position will remain open until filled, with flexible start date in 2026-2027. We are excited to build this team, and enthusiastically welcome new members to help us shape the future of this new group.
